Beware - Tax avoidance schemes targeting returning NHS staff

There are emerging reports of ‘Unscrupulous’ tax avoidance schemes being run to target NHS staff that are returning to support the coronavirus efforts.

The Times reported this week that ex healthcare staff, returning to the profession to support the national efforts to assist with coronavirus are being targeted by tax avoidance schemes. By using such schemes, staff face the possibility of thousands of bounds of bills.

With 20,000 additional staff re-joining the healthcare system, they are being targeted with the lure of paying lower tax. In doing so, these schemes provide a short term benefit at the long term cost.
